Vintage Seamaster

Hey guys I recently purchased a vintage seamaster de ville. I believe it is a 166.020 reference in 14k yellow gold. Does any one have any information about this? I know it has an aftermarket bracelet. Anyone have any sense of rarity or value? Year? I heard these were typically gold filled but I couldn't confirm that.

Any insights would be appreciated!

Please post pics in between the lugs, might have a stamp indicating gold content. You can confirm this by checking the stamps inside the case back.

The serial number on the movement will confirm the year of manufacture. Since this was engraved in 1966, that's a good approximation for the date.

These come up for sale relatively frequently, so I wouldn't call this rare. Need to see the dial without the scratches on the crystal to assess value. It will be worth more if it's solid 18k, but going by the shape of the indices, I'm guessing 14k or plated.

This has the hippocampus case back, which is somewhat more collectable, but the engraving may make this somewhat less desirable, depending on the buyer.

It says 14k in between the lugs. I'm thinking maybe $1k-$1.5k?

Could it be worth it's weight in gold or the price you paid perhaps?
