[Sorry for the duplicate post. I am starting a new thread as my previous post's title didn't draw any feedback.]
This is my first Omega...I have been searching for a few months, and finally located and purchased this model, ref 145.020 . Please share your opinions on the condition and originality of the watch. Especially regarding the dial itself and the speckled finish. In person it looks very nice, you don't notice the speckles until looking under a loop or macro lens.
I am curious if the hands appear original, if the crystal is original and how much you think the case has been polished. It still has an edge, but was this added or original?

    Thanks for your feedback.

Hands look good. The face shows it's age and I like that. Doesn't seem to be overly polished.

I believe it is 1162 with fixed, straight ends as there is minimal curvature of the case.

    The 145.020 is a 22mm 1170 with the 625 end links originally.
Maybe you can find the one I threw away in 1974 for a Speidel twist-o-flex.::facepalm2::

    Greg,
I'm not too sure about what will work and what won't. Perhaps Stewart has seen the 1162 used or others may have experience.
I have heard of using the 1171 bracelet with the 625's and I believe these are available through Ofrei (or they were).
Be prepared for sticker shock for a bracelet style that I never found to be very comfortable.
I have occasionally seen an 1170 and you can buy the end links new but it will be quite a search.

Buck, I think you are onto something.

    Pinched from Old Omegas:

How things have changed. Bullhead cheaper than Soccer Timer which was cheaper than Speedy Mk II.

I checked some old brochures and that picture of the 145.020 is the only one that was used. It appears in brochures for 1971,72 & 73.

By the way I have an 1170 with 625 end links which I was going to list in the sales forum. If the OP is still looking for one, please drop me a pm..

    Greg,
Warren (Spiki), is the basis for most of my knowledge regarding the 145.020.
I asked many of the exact questions you have asked some year and a half ago.
You couldn't be in finer hands.

    Warren,
    Good to see you.

The Omega 145.020 originally came with the same bracelet and end links as the 145.019 pictured above. The bracelet is
1117 and the end links are 549. I bought a 145.020 brand new back in 1970 through the BX Exchange at Soesterburg, Camp
New Amsterdam AFB......it had to be special ordered through the BX Exchange catalog. The original price was $99,00. I was only
12 years old at the time. I wanted the Moon watch originally, but when I saw the catalog posting the 145.020 with the bright colored
face it took my breath away.....that's what I bought!!

625 endlinks don't fit 145.020, I just got one from Omega and it's useless. Case is too thick
