Vintage Seamaster/Constellation Advice (for Anniversary)

Hi All,
So I am looking into commemorating a work anniversary with a vintage seamaster or constellation. I am used to wearing 39-42mm watches so I would prefer the larger side of vintage (assuming that might still only mean 36). I have not dabbled too much into these yet and would want some general advice for "larger" vintage Omegas.
Also, I would prefer either SS or solid gold. I am not looking for plated etc.
Thank you!
Mike

That’s a 34mm ref, so probably to small?

There are 36mm Seamasters from the 50/60s, if I’m not mistaken the refs are:

2494
2519
2657
2764
2765
2771
2856/2857
2992
2976 (37mm I think)

A thread for the beefy lug 50s ones:
https://omegaforums.net/threads/let’s-see-your-“jumbo”-beefy-lug-seamasters.124162/

Also, there are jumbo Constellations. The most common ref is 168.001, that’s not available in solid gold though. The other refs are 14777, 14395 and 14396. Here’s a thread for them as inspiration:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/sho...168-001-14777-14395-and-14396-allowed.109416/

They all fetch considerable premiums over their 34mm siblings. I’d say jumbo SMs start roughly at ~1200USD, jumbo Connies at maybe ~2000$. Take this with a grain of salt though, as there aren’t many around, especially of the latter, so while you might find a bargain somewhere many are advertised for more money than that.

There’s a 2976 currently for sale in the classifieds here, seems to be located in the UK though:

And finally, it late 60s/early 70s is fine for you but you don’t wanna spend this much, 166.023/168.032 can be had for significantly under 1000$, are 36mm too, appear very modern in my eyes and are generally great watches.

Thank you so much! I will investigate all of these references. Greatly appreciated
