Hello all. Firstly, I know very little about Rolex ed, so go easy on me! This watch is for sale locally. I did a bit of research online and it seems to indicate that it's from approx. 1958. It is lacking the crown, seller says that it functioned before this. The dial is crooked, but I assume this is caused by the broken stem? It is obviously a logoed dial, the Exchange Club of America. Seller says it is 14K. Unfortunately no movement pics, the seller is afraid to open it. I apologize for the horrible pics (seller's) but would appreciate any additional input. The seller is asking $300, which seemed (just intuitively) a bit low. Oh, and it also comes with the original metal display box and the original cardboard outer box, both in nice shape. Thanks again.

I can't help but for 300$ I would take a gamble. I would see it in person to have a better idea and hope I don't get mugged at the same time. Best bet would be to go to a competent watchmaker with the seller and get the back opened before buying it.

Go for it. I doubt you´ll loose money on it @ that price. IMO the box(es) should be worth it alone

Probably a Cal. 1520 inside, it can be solid gold or gold filled (exists on both versions and i can't reed the inscription on caseback) but, for 300, i would go for it anyway (original boxes are a good bonus, at least for me).

How much are you willing to spend overall?

I guess the 300 for this wreck is just the price of admission to pay anywhere from 500 to 1.5k on top of it for restoration/ maintenance.

Ask yourself that q: would you buy it at 1.8k if it were in good shape? That's the order of magnitude you're looking at "all in".

I would definitely go for it! $300- it is a no brainer. I think they would never put club's logo on the fake watch.Take a look at it in person, to have better idea.
P.S. There is nothing better than the local sales)))I am searching CL at all the time.

Much obliged for the replies gents (and/or ladies). I don't do this too often but think I'll pick this one up provided the movement is in acceptable condition just to flip and add to the watch fund. Every little bit helps! Thanks again.
