Here is a classic vintage Rolex Datejust from 1970 in great condition. The reference 1601 has a full stainless case and bracelet with white gold fluted bezel. The less common "no-lume" dial and hand-set is perfect for someone who doesn't want to worry about potential lume damage. The watch appears entirely correct and original to me; the 2.5M case serial number is consistent with the third quarter 1970 case-back and bracelet from early 1971.

The piece is in very fine condition overall, with beautiful silver sunburst "pie-pan" dial, clean hands, and a strong case. Please see the photos to judge for yourself, but IMO, the watch was clearly well cared for, and does not exhibit the typical condition issues one often sees in these pieces (e.g. spots on the dial, corroded hands, case pitting, case-back scratches/polishing, stretched out bracelet, etc.). If I look closely with a loupe, I can see what is either some dirt or minor superficial damage in a few spots at the very outer edge of the dial. I've tried to show them in the photos, but they are not easy to see, and not noticeable by eye IMO. I just want to call out anything I've noticed.

The folded-link 6251 jubilee bracelet with 55 end-links appears to be original to the watch. It's in good condition with only minor stretch. Unusually, it has all 22 original links and will fit a large wrist of over 7.5". I have no service history on the watch, but it is running well, and the non-quickset date operates properly. Overall it's a great vintage DJ with no issues.

As always, take a close look at the photos and let me know if you have questions. I have a few vintage DJs that I'm willing to let go, so let me know if you are looking for something different.

My asking price is $3,875 USD by PP F&F, Zelle, bank wire, or other fee-free electronic payment. The watch and I are in the US (Colorado). Shipping included within the US.

Dan-you're killing me. I had a few of these (1600 series DJ's) that I sold off several years ago. And I miss one in particular---of course it looks like this one that you listed above.

For people not familiar with these wonderful Rolii, the lugs on the 1600 series are usually pretty thinned out. Very rare to see them this meaty.

Great price for this watch and bracelet combo, and great seller..wish I was back in buying mode.
