Hi everyone, would this be worth anything in this condition? And if I wanted to, how would I go about selling it? Last question is it possible to get this thing working again? Any info would be appreciated. Located in BC Canada 🇨🇦.

As previously written on OF- A "find of a lifetime" for any Omega collector. Reference 2777-2 Railmaster Prototype. I assume that even in this condition the price is about 8000 EU. This is a very rare specimen.

Why a prototype?

I got the information here

I think you are mixing up apples and pears.
What you are talking about (pricewise) would be a white dialed RM which is some seriously different watch.

The word Prototype is superfluous here
Not just superfluous, but completely incorrect. You might want to think twice before making posts like that.

I have a Railmaster CK2914-1 dated 1957 for comparison.
It would be best if the case was opened by a professional to reveal the case number.

The first sentence was enough . Why did you write the second one ? What is the point of it for this forum. Anyone can make a mistake. Surprised .

Don't look for a catch in this. As a reference material and for general development 😉

mzee3500,
As you can see from the items in this thread, there is a bit of uncertainty about your watch.
It could be a precursor to the first Railmasters;
It could be fake;

From the pair of photographs supplied, to me from the font and the build quality, it looks like it could be real....... in which case it could be valuable, maybe even very valuable.
In the photos it looks small and gold? A Ladies watch?
I suggest you definitely do not sell it at this time.
As I said, best if the case was opened by a professional to reveal the case number and movement number/details. Give us an idea of the scale, and take some hi-resolution photos.

The OP already stated in the header that it is a ref 2777-2 so obviously she knows what it is and the watch had already to be opened for this information.
And no, the watch is not gold - its steel
And no, its not a ladies watch, its a 37mm mens watch
IMO you should do your homework before you comment on collector´s serious stuff.
It looks as if you tried eagerly to reach the 200 posts number 🙂

If you had done your homework on this post you would see that the ref 2777-2 was never mentioned by the enquirer.
How do you know it is 37mm? I'm not saying it isn't, there is no mention of this.
I wasn't about to spend a lot of time doing homework. I was only interested in this as I own one of the early Railmasters.
Your comment about me eagerly trying to reach the 200 posts number is HIGHLY offensive. I will reach it with or without replying to this.
I can assure you that I was only trying to help mzee3500 in this matter.
BTW, do I achieve another post for this?

Read the thread title and perhaps try again…

Perhaps I'm missing something, but may I ask why this thread, posted by a new member with one post, and entitled "Vintage Railmaster 2777-2 1955 how do I sell it?" has not been closed as a disguised sales post?

Agreed.............. to my utter humiliation (again), I missed that.
