·Hello!
I have recently come across a fairly battered Pocket Watch, which had no markings or branding on the dial.
I dug into it as I’ve been working away at disassembling and re-assembling movements with a quick rodico/pegwood clean just to get some experience.
When I opened up the case back for both the bezel and movement, I was presented with the following:
I found Calibre markings on the balance cock as per below:
And some further markings:
The numbers 3218778, they appeared twice, and so I stuck it through the serial checker which suggested that this dates back to 1908 if it actually is genuine.
I’m still very new to horology, and so I can’t quite get my head around this, as the movement appears to fairly closely match a few vintage omega movements I have seen, but none that I can match identically.
It just seems bizarre to me that the dial would closely match an omega dial but with no markings, unless it’s just been used as a replacement?
By any means, I would love some clarification or advice in relation to this one from a finer tuned eye and brain.
See below photos of the general makeup of the movement and the dial (minus the balance)
I’ve reassembled the movement now, but if any measurements or further photos are required I will happily oblige!
