Hi guys, i'm new to the forum. I'm looking for some info on my grandfathers watch. It was given to him on his retirement in 1965. My folks took it to a watch specialist in Glasgow today and although he couldn't value it, he did say it was a vintage watch. It has been overwound at some point in it's life and I am looking for some place in Scotland to get it repaired for my folks. It has the original Omega strap. Any info would be great.
Difficult to say what you have without seeing the insides, but looks like it is in original condition. HAve it serviced by someone who knows what he is doing and you will have a quality timepiece for years to come. I am sure other will stop by with advice on where to get it serviced in your area.
Since it's in the UK, it could also be a Dennison made case and be 9K gold. Movement is likely cal 268 or 269. Crown was swapped out for a non-Omega replacement. That can easily be sourced by a good watchmaker. Rare to see on with an original band and buckle. Very nice. gatorcpa
The guy my parents took it to said it was 18K gold. Will try and get some more info out of them as they were a bit vague.
