·Unfortunately, that's the way it is.
Call me crazy, but when I send my vintage Seiko to my local specialized Seiko watchmaker, I never mention I own Omega (fearing he will charge me more on Seiko servicing).
I don't go in with rags on to his shop, but almost 😀 . Human psychology is a rabbit hole. I have witnessed being charged differently on other items based on external factors.
I should have said I only collect Seiko. But then he didn't seem to think much of vintage KS which still confuses me.
Finding a mint 601 based watch is easier than finding a mint vintage KS/GS. All the pain of seeing those polished(read grinded) cases.
Looking at all those auctions which say excellent but the watch is unrecognizable I often think this must be the work a single psychopath who cut himself on a really edgy Seiko as a kid and is now buying and grinding everything.
