Hey,

since the price is allready on 22K €, I guess this offer is no secret anymore. There is an Vintage Speedmaster Racing for auction on Ebay Germany right now. As rare as these watches are, I thought let us all guess the final price.

My bet is 55K€ 😁

Besides the ugly new bracelet and no movement shot yet, is anything wrong with it?

Nico

55K Euro is crazy unless you really, really like it. The fact that the 3570.40 Japan Racing exists kind of ruins the special-ness of this piece.

I think the hands are from a MKII Speedmaster (most easily seen in that fat hour hand.) Makes me wonder what else might have been changed…

Ok, regarding William, 55k would be on the lowest end:

Do you really think the chart applies to today’s market for special models? 😅

IMO, the beauty of these is in vivid dial colors, and the photos make the dial look quite faded.

It sure looks like it. Which basically renders this watch an eternal project, I wouldn't have too high hopes of finding a correct vintage hand set for a model this rare.

I have recently seen a fully original example of this exact watch sell for 50k EUR, so I guess Williams' pricing might not be too far off at today's exchange rates. Doesn't matter much though. Applying the reference price for a 'Fair' to 'Good' special edition watch on a piece which lacks one of the two really distinctive features hat set this piece apart from any other Speedy of that era is a little naive, imho.

Fair enough, I just wanted to discuss the watch and make the posting a bit spicy.
Despite the condition these watches are rarely seen. Thanks for your comments so far.

Appreciate that! A lot. And I’m curious to see the outcome. I just realized I didn’t actually play. So here we go, I think this one will end at around 32K EUR.
We’ll know in two days. 😉

Thought those were the same than the ones on some MkII racing ?

They might have been replaced during a modern service, that would also explain the bracelet...
