Up for sale is a very nice example of a mid-70's Speedy that I dug up at an estate sale recently. The watch had one owner and was caked in grime when I purchased it. After a through cleaning of the bracelet and some Q-tip treatment on the case, the watch presents much better! See below for more detail:

Dial: Vintage tritium dial is in great condition with even patina that is lighter. No loss of tritium or flaking. The serial of this example corresponds with the end of the -74 range, and as such, this dial displays the "half-step" dial that bridged between the stepped and domed 70's dials. See macro photo below for more detail. Any imperfections are on the crystal.

Hands: Original handset exhibits beautiful patina and reacts identically to the dial under UV. I have seen many mid-70's Speedies with different aging between the hands / dials, so there are no concerns for me about originality. The hour hand would benefit from a stabilization at the next servicing (see macro picture).

Case: Professional case is unpolished and in very nice condition. There are surface scratches and swirls (likely from decades of drawer duty) as well as a few minor dents, but the case retains its original factory brushing and the case lines are factory grade. Caseback is in excellent shape as well.

Bezel:
Original "tall tachy" bezel is in good shape with only a few notable nicks/scratches.

Movement / Functionality: Movement is clean and pictured below, with correct serial for the end of this reference. I do not know the servicing history of the watch and winding / setting is a little stiff, but chronograph function works crisply / accurately, and at full wind, the watch kept perfect time for 2.5 days. As always, the watch is sold as-is and servicing at some point in the near future is recommended.

Accessories: The watch comes on its original, full length 1171 bracelet with 633 end links.

My asking price is $4,300, which includes fully insured Fedex Priority shipping. Payment via PayPal (F&F or add 3% if using PP) or direct bank wire. US sale strongly preferred. Face-to-face in Denver is also welcome for local buyers. Finally, I have plenty of references available as a buyer and seller that I can provide if necessary. Thanks for looking and thanks to OF for the space.
