·Offering for sale my straight lug Omega Speedmaster ‘Ed White’ reference 105.005-65. Produced October 1967.
I’m the second owner having bought this back in 2014 from the original owner who used for timing dinghy races in the UK for a few years in the late 60’s, before retiring it to a drawer. The original owners story can be found in the thread linked below.

Every piece is correct and original, just as it was bought in the 60’s. The only elements I had replaced at service were the crystal and pushers but both are supplied with the watch. Indeed when it comes to having it serviced again, I planned to re-install the original pushers.
Overall this is a beautiful, original watch. It’s not perfect, as the case has dings and the bezel particularly so. However, this is a result of how it was used back in the day but crucially, it’s original.
Terms:
Price - £9,995 GBP net to me. Via bank transfer or Wise.
Watch is in the UK. Worldwide insured shipping via Royal Mail, insured with Sercusus included. Other delivery options to be discussed if required.
No returns.
Details:
Dial
Factory original ‘narrow T’ step dial in very good condition, not relumed or refinished. Lume plots are all present and have aged to a pale yellow shade. Dial body in very good condition with little deterioration. The seems to be a feint scratch on the running seconds counter, presumably from the sud dial hand dragging slightly prior to service. I’ve tried to capture this in the photos but it’s very feint. Overall an attractive dial with lovely matte finish.
Hands
Original hands. Not repainted, refinished or relumed. Some minor paint loss around the centre stack as to be expected on 50 year old hands.
Case
Original stainless steel straight lug case in very good unpolished condition, with surface wear as to be expected. No corrosion or damage. Never been polished or restored and retains thick lugs with the original brushed sides, polished tops and strong facets the -65’s are known for.
Bezel
Original ‘dot over ninety’ bezel. Seems to have taken the brunt of the wear when this watch was timing dingy races in the North Sea, so wear present throughout. I’ve been close to swapping this for a better one numerous times over the years but originality and history meant I could never change it.
Crown/Pushers
Original flat foot crown.
Pushers were replaced at STS service in 2014 with correct slim neck replacements. Originals are fully functional and will be supplied so they can be refitted if required.
Movement
Original Omega caliber 321 in very good condition. Fully serviced in 2014 by Swiss Time Services. Running well and all functions operate as they should.
Bracelet
Original flat link bracelet reference 1035 with 506 Endlinks. Nice and tight with no broken/loose spring links. I wear it on this bracelet with no issues whatsoever.
Date stamped 2 68 (second quarter 1968).
Suitable for wrists up to 7.75”.
Accessories
I did have an extract confirming production of Oct 67 and delivery to the UK. Unfortunately I’ve lost the paper copy but I do have a picture (below).
Copy of service receipt from STS, dated 2014.
Original pushers and crystal. Pushers are usable. Crystal cracked.
