Hi OF,

I have for sale a vintage Omega Seamaster 36mm in stainless steel with a black gilt dial and rose gold furniture bumper for sale.

Ref 2657-1 / 2494 with 12.7 million serial indicates 1951 production date

Dial: Black dial that has a matte texture to it. A little bit of brown peaking through (see pictures). The radium is flaking on some markers and a small spot is missing from the hour hand towards the base. Rose Gold furniture with 12, 3, 6, 9 configuration and sub-second hand. I tried to share pictures in different lighting to show how the watch looks.

Case: 36mm stainless steel case with original crown. Maintains its edges well and shows signs of wear from use. Crown is original clover crown. Caseback is engraved with 3657-1 / 2494.

Movement: The watch runs and crown pulls out smoothly and sets time. There is some rotor rub so I did not wear it long enough to time it and it should be serviced prior to use. I don’t have the service history.

The watch is located with me in NY and comes head only. I'm asking $1650 OBO shipped CONUS. Rest of world at cost. No returns unless grossly misrepresented. Quickpay/Zelle/Paypal accepted. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

I have a bunch of feedback here.

Great, I'm now waiting for the next new user who asks for a black dial SM and where to find one. So much easier to just reply with a link instead of the usual text about rarity, how the search is a mine field and so forth. 😁

Nice example, GLWS!

Shell cordovan bund . . .

. . . will be fitted after it's serviced. Off to my watchmaker tomorrow.

Thanks, Ben. I'd been looking for a black 2657 ever since scoring the 2494.

Beautiful watch, congrats.
Just curious Art, what aspects will be covered by the service? More specifically, will you relume the minute hand, or leave it as is?

Ben would take out a contract on me if any aspect were to be changed.

😀

My local watchmaker will be servicing the movement - no need for any parts including crystal that I can tell after looking it over.
