Vintage Omega identification

Hi all! I’m very new to the forum and obviously there are many posts very similar to mine, but I’d like to ask for help with identification this particular Omega I consider buying.

Only information I got from a seller that it is newly serviced cal. 565. I asked if the dial is original though and answer was yes (due to my concerns about its being frankenwatch or just reidialed one, and having no other information on the dial itself). Another suspicion was the price, the seller asks for €250, which is surprisingly cheap if I understand correctly.

I would highly appreciate any possible help from a community.

Please don't buy this watch. Stick around and you will soon have a better idea of what to look for in a vintage Omega. Just the condition of the case and the dial is enough to run away from it, but I also don't believe that this is newly serviced either. The movement looks dirty and they didn't even bother to align the case clamp correctly. Who knows what else is wrong with it.

You can follow this thread for recommended vintage Omegas: https://omegaforums.net/threads/rec...-not-for-inquiries.1790/page-563#post-2447034

Do you seriously think that dial hasn't been messed with? All the paint has been stripped off it, it's a mess. As it the case which is down to the brass on both lower lugs. You'd be a right mug to buy that.

My advice is to walk around the forums for more knowledge 😀. Don’t rush

That’s 250 as it’s a dog of a watch. The case is horribly overpolished and the dial has had the text stripped away.
Avoid.

Thank you guys for the answers! I was sure lots of things is very off with this watch, and now I can pass on that one without doubts.
Will be reading more though before getting a vintage Omega, but an itch for a good piece still here, and I guess for a decent one realistically budget needs to be raised at least twice

Best to have some idea what original Omega watches look like.

And, my first lesson for the OP, sellers can and do say anything that separates you from your money. Yes the dial is original, it has the original brass blank.( see my above paragraph)
