Vintage Omega ID help

Hi, I was going through some of my father's things and believe I found my grandfather's Omega. I was curious if I could get help identifying the model or any information on it? My best guess is that it is from the 1940's. I recently put a new strap on the watch so that is, of course, not original.

Thank you-

To be fair, Google search has deteriorated to the point that it's become my absolute last resort. But if you're lucky and can filter out the AI and SEO garbage, you might find a link to an article such as "How to Identify a Vintage Omega."

The watch model is inside the caseback, and the serial is on the movement, and tells you the age with a quick google.

Go to a watchmaker to get it opened. Reference numbers are on the inside case back. The serial on the movement gives you an approx year, it’s broadly accurate but based on estimates.

The dial has been redone at some stage, which diminishes the value. But given it’s a heirloom, it might not be really important as it’s part of the watch story!

If you want to keep it and wear it, think about getting it serviced at some stage.

Enjoy!
