Vintage Omega Help

  • Hi all,
I'm considering buying this piece from a seller I've previously bought from before (different brand) but I'm a bit concerned as I can't seem to find another exact piece despite numerous hours of research. The seller has informed me that the watch was serviced 2 years ago but he wasn't able to answer which model/ref this watch is and if all parts are original to the watch.
My questions therefore if anyone can help are:

  • 1. What is the reference/model name? As far as I could tell, this could be an Omega Tresor maybe?

  • 2. The dial looks very clean but the movement looks like it corresponds more to the age of the watch (I looked up the ref...seems to be a 1950 watch) - does the dial look refinished or worse, redialled?

  • 3. I think it is possible that this watch has been "cobbled" together with original parts but not necessarily from the one watch itself (franken watch) - am I wrong?

  • Can anyone offer any help to my questions?
Thank you!

It is a gold plated watch with many worn thru spots. It also comes with a repainted dial.
Don't buy.

Agree, atrocious both dial and condition.

It’s had a hard life.

Same advice I gave you on WUIS yesterday morning...

An obvious redial, and not a particularly good one IMO. The movement will most likely need a service, and many parts for the old bumpers are discontinued, so that may present some servicing challenges. Plated case, and the case itself has been worked over by some hack who used a punch all around the case to create a lip so the case back would snap on better...ugly work indeed.

For me it would be a hard pass...
