    Shalom Achi,

    Google: Omega 14381 18kt
It is called a Constellation Deluxe.
That should help you navigate this.
What a nice remembrance of your grandfather.
What a beautiful watch and (an awesome Yerusha ;))

Change the watch band as it will chew away the lugs. Also, the crown has been replaced and others can point out how you could replace that with a period correct one if you want.

But really, a very nice watch. Wear it with pride.

I'm not terribly familiar with them, but probably 60's (maybe earlier). Bring the watch to a competent watchmaker and have them open the back and snap some pictures of the movement. There should be a number there on the movement that will help us tell you more about when it was made.

A crown is the part you pull out and twist to change the time.

    Best,
    Ben

    Michael,
    Welcome to OF.
Your watch is from the late 50’s spanning through into the early 60’s. As Ben says the movement number will give you the exact year.
Here is some further reading material on Constellations http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.co.uk/
Just use the various links on the right and you will find everything you need to know.

Also it’s worth having it checked over by a Watchmaker to make sure the movement is running ok. After being in storage for so long the lubricants have likely dried up and running the watch could cause damage. The crystal (which looks to be cracked) could also be replaced at the same time. A new crystal can work wonders for the appearance of a vintage watch.

The Watchmaker took a look and assured me that it was in perfect working condition., and was taken care of only by professionals.
I took Ben's advise and will change the wrist band. the Crystals seem ok but the glass is tainted and broken on the right side and therefore will be replaced Asap... Thanks for the tips and information !

You should be able to do a sold listings search on eBay.

The crystal is the glass. Maybe you are confusing crystal with jewels in the movement

The watch case has a dual reference, as did quite a few Constellation models. Yours has 14381/2. The 14381 is the standard ref for this model, be it steel, gold cap or solid gold. The 14382 is used for the Deluxe version which is a solid gold case together with a solid gold dial

@cristos71 did the Deluxe always have solid gold dial? I also have ref 14381/2 but with non gold dial. Thanks
