Oh dear, that's a mistreated one. But the crown alone may be worth what you paid. Please take it to watchmaker inmediately, that heavy corrosion outside does not bode well for the inside.

I think that caseback is not actually corroded just thick with grime, it looks to have been on a nato like strap and not often cleaned. I would bet that this would clean up really well if taken to a watchmaker, I think the movement will be fine.

+1. I'm not seeing much corrosion there.

Neither do I, that's dirt probably. Nice art deco numbers!

isn´t this how we like to buy watches? Low price because of lot of dirt, unpolished, unopened, no photo of the movement... but those in the know roll the dice and catch some nice timepieces - in case they are a bit brave in addition to their knowledge...

well done, this will clean up nicely

Good to hear that we are at least three Scandinaves here ☺
I'm a Swede considering to migrate to Denmark

If you can skate the Danes need some help with their hockey based on yesterday's result!

This is a truly interesting find and if in decent shape inside, will be a steal, price wise. This is one where I'd be curious to know by ConElPueblo or another expert if a heavy polishing may add to the value?

If by heavy polishing you mean a cleaning with no polishing, then no, it will still not add to the value. It will just be cleaner 😉

Great watch, love the dial !

A heavy polishing never adds to the value.

In general terms a sympathetic re-polish may slightly increase value, but usually polishing are value are indirectly proportional to one another.

^ thanks. I'm real new and just couldn't imagine reselling that watch with the corrosion on the back. I would buy that watch but not with the back like that.

My sincerest thanks for leaving dirty watches alone - that's why they are cheaper for those who know how to clean them up 😀

A wee consideration if you’re moving for the beer: may I suggest settling in Belgium? The gold standard. ::stirthepot::

(And plus one for team Denmark, albeit distant family history....👍)
Well.. to be honest it's not the beer 😀
Here's a list of most livable cities in Europe. Copenhagen got pos. 2
Oslo and Helsinki are also there. Try to find any Swedish city. There aren't any. I wonder why?

NOT! 😉
