·Up for sale is my Longines Conquest 9000 1 in stainless steel. As my tastes have changed, I have been selling off some of my older watches, but I've held onto this one the longest because I think the model and this example are special.
The automatic 19AS movement underwent a full service on May 31, 2019, by A Step Back In Time (independent watchmaker in Laguna Beach California), and runs roughly 10 to 25 seconds slow per day according to the Timegrapher iPhone app. The watch has only been worn a handful of times since that service. Most of these photos were taken before the service, hence the grime seen in a couple photos.
As you can see in the photos, Longines Heritage department confirms this watch was invoiced in May of 1955. Serial number being 9.4 million suggests a manufacture date of 1954, the very first year of the Longines Conquest model.
The case is in very good condition, showing appropriate wear, but with the lug facets still visible to my eye. Crown is original and signed. Domed plexiglass Crystal is in good condition.
The enamel caseback medallion is in remarkably good condition. If you're reading this, you know that these are often badly worn, and that much of the enamel is often missing. These wonderful medallions are one of my favorite aspects of this great watch, and I hunted long and hard to find one with an intact enamel caseback medallion.
The factory non-lume dial is in very good condition, and is original and unrefinished. Arrowhead style faceted markers in very good condition (another great feature of these models IMO). Marked SWISS at 6 o'clock. I have intentionally posted photos which show to watch in some unflattering lighting/angles. It has some light patina as can be seen in some of the photos, but I am unable to see the patina with the naked eye in most lighting situations. As you know, these two-tone dials appear different in different lighting environments and angles.
The watch will be shipped with a high-quality tan leather Saffiano strap with stainless decloyant clasp. This leather strap can be seen in the second photo. The grey suede strap shown in the other photos will not be included.
I'm offering the watch at $1,150 + insured shipping. I have 20 years of perfect eBay feedback (ID rustyfrets). Also at least one OF sale and another from Reddit. Refunds accepted within 3 days after delivery if I have grossly misrepresented the watch. Venmo, Zelle, PayPal F&F, ACH, wire all acceptable.
