This image flashed up on my cloud today as I must have scanned it a couple of years ago. It’s my Dad and I in mid-70s, playing with my new Evel Knievel. He’s wearing an Omega De Ville bought by my Mum for their engagement in 1964. They’re still married today and the watch and it’s set still with him.
I do too but only from TV commercials as a kid. I wouldn't say I was deprived as a kid, but while the rich kids were playing with their latest toys me and my neighborhood friends were learning how to light matches and start fires
When I first read/scanned the post, I thought mid-70s? Damn, your dad looked great! After I realized my dumb mistake, I thought that he still appears to have been in excellent shape, whatever his age, and he appears to be (or to have been) a thoughtful man.
Great heritage including watch that will be yours someday! But what I like the most is your's and dads hair, just like my little bro when he was younger
I am surprised everyone is also ignoring the classic Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle …. proper watches and proper toys back then :0)
Thank you for all the comments. My Dad is still here (and Mum), 56 years after the watch purchase! The toy was actually completely useless if I remember. It never did what the advert showed! Watch is still immaculate but with newer dial as original got ruined after a swimming disaster in 80/90s !
