·I’m new to the forum and am coming to (vintage) Omega from an interest in vintage Seiko so I was really pleased to see this section of the forum and the great examples owned by forum members. I have to say while Seiko are a bit of a sleeper choice compared to Omega, you lot have some great examples. Very interested in the OP’s 6145-8050 in blue/grey with an original bracelet - that’s a grail watch for me.

·Many thanks for the kind welcome, and I’ll definitely keep an eye out on the eBay thread for the elusive black-dialled gold cap jumbo I’m aspiring to! I saw there’s also a similar thread for Seiko which is interesting. It seems orientated toward divers watches but I’m not sure if that is deliberate or just because that’s what’s been commented on so far….?

·I’ll add my 4522-8000. I find these watches amazing, regardless of price. Case design is interesting and the movement is top notch.

·What makes you think it’s a redial? Would be curious to hear from those with more knowledge..
All that being said it still can be hard to identify a well executed GS redial especially with one photo.
This IG link is of 4520-8000 from a well known GS collector he regularly posts excellent photos and I use as reference for whatever watch I am looking at.
Hope this helps I am not expert but have learned a bit along the way from some who are.
Edit: to be clear I am not saying your watch is redial I cannot tell from photo.

·Redials can be very difficult to identify on these vintage GS. The text on dial and particularly at bottom are specific to the reference so knowing what they should be is critical. Subtle font and spacing differences, and fineness of Suwa and Daini logos is an important tell. Dial texture is helpful as coarser sunburst paint can be sign. Also irregular and inconsistent spacing of minute markers are tells as the GS line had exacting standards so there was less random variation than we are used to with Omega dials.
All that being said it still can be hard to identify a well executed GS redial especially with one photo.

·What makes you think it is a redial? I own one and to my eye I see no red flags. There is always potential of a service dial, but I would say it is not a repaint.
