hello there all of you!

I'm about to buy my first rolex and its going to be a datejust. Now did I came across this datejust 1971 36mm 1601. I did a lot of hours research about what to look at but one part I find really hard is the overpolished part to look at. It looks like its really polished, but because its my first watch and will buy it online I can't really see if there is anything wrong with the watch that I'm overlooking like overpolishing. I saw this tread where people helped the guy look at the watch and was hoping you guys could help me out aswell. https://omegaforums.net/threads/is-this-vintage-datejust-overpolished.170305/

Thank you a lot!

Here are some pictures:

Doesn't look OVERpolished to me. Sure, polished up for sale, but not worn down. Edges look sharp. Lugs have good thickness.
The bracelet seems to match the dial (pie pan=ref 1601).
Note that this is a relatively more rare (no Datejust is truly rare) 'no lume' dial and hands. (and yes, it's funny but correct that the dial still says 'T Swiss T' despite the absence of Tritium).

Thank you so much for your fast reaction! The absence of tritium and 'T Swiss T' on the dail is a funny detail and new to me. Its so much fun diving in to this whole watch hobby. I'm going to do some more price research now. He is asking 4400 for the watch at the moment, any thoughts on that price. Watch comes with box.

Thank you again!

I personally don't see anything wrong with the watch. 4400 is a fair price, I think.
A picture of the movement and whether it has been serviced would be useful, too.

I agree this watch is not over polished. Lug angles are still sharp.

I guess I'm late here, but it seems like you already made up your mind. If you're buying online doesn't hurt to ask if you can see a video or pics of it in direct sunlight.

Pretty poor photos, but as far as I can tell it looks ok.
