I have a handshake deal to acquire this. It's supposedly rose gold. Just wanted to know more about it. Does it look authentic? Model? Reference number? Production year? Thanks in advance.
At first I thought it was a pie pan. But it does not resemble any pie pan I have come across in pictures. Does not have that duodecagonal outline. But that does not necessarily make it a fake. Seller says it is rose gold. The hallmarks on caseback hard to read anymore. Forgot to take pictures. Since bracelet does not fit me, seller says he will add a link or two. That concerned me. But I still shook hands. Togwther with a polerouter (in picture below) I will be getting this Connie for a packaged price of about USD1,700.
wil get more pics next week. It does pass the MOY test. But that does not necessarily mean it's genuine.
Hello @pongster Welcome to the forum As above - more and better pics required to give any meaningful assessment of your target purchase. Front back and sides. Not a pie-pan Hard to tell from the blurry pic but the fonts on the 'Constellation' look suspect. Doesn't mean it's not genuine but a redial will affect value.
Really terrible pictures but that Constellation dial doesn't look right to me. Minute hash marks seem too far in compared to the outer edge of the applied indices and is that a double crossed "t' in "Constellation"? Too blurry to say much more with certainty
I'd say that both watches look suspect. But I wouldn't want to spread false news and ignorance... And $1,700 is pretty damn cheap.
The minute track on the constellation looks to be rather wonky in places... and the UG logo looks to have been stuck back on at a funny angle. I'd go out on a limb, and say they're both redials. If it were my money, I'd be walking away.
Vintage Omega experts, cast your vote now. Don't wait until you have better pics, that would be too easy. I vote for redial.
I'm not sure it's worth putting any more effort in here... walk away... there are plenty more watches that are more deserving of your funds than these.
Nowaday 80% or more of refinished dials I see seem to pass the MOY test, its an art that has definitely (unfortunately) been perfected in the past couple of years.
Unfortunately, wasn't able to walk away. More pics here. Is this what a caliber 561 looks like? Consistent with appearance of watch?
Could do with some in focus pics Serial puts it around 66/67 - so quite a late 561 Movement looks like it could do with a service and you need a gasket for the case. Dial still looks like its redone Take some clear 'straight on'pics with hands away from text and we'll be able to tell for sure Hope that helps
Omega case is 14K gold-capped, not 18K. Bezel may be solid 14K. Not a huge amount of gold there. Definite redial on that one. The Polerouter is also a redial. No movement pictures, so can't comment there. I wouldn't pay the money asked for those watches based on the information presented. gatorcpa
