Power reserve: 45 hours
This Bulova 14EB is a modified Valjoux 7733 which is a chronograph movement featuring two sub dials of running seconds and minutes passed. Bulova used this movement from 1969 to 1973. A Valjoux 7733 movement on steroids. All the parts used on the movement is plated with copper/gold/cadmium to minimize galling of the moving parts, this also reduces oxidisation/discolouration/rust ...
The 7733 is a cam shifting chronograph movement and is actually just an evolution of the Venus 188 from 1948. Valjoux absorbed Venus in 1966 and made no changes to the movement until 1969. This cam style movement was considered more affordable than the well known column wheel variants – this led to many manufacturers releasing new models to suit this emerging market including Breitling with the Top Time.
The movement has been revised several times and Valjoux produced variants that include date (7734), 12-hour counter (7736), 10 minute regatta timer (7737) and then the self winding (7750) that was initially released for only 1 year in 1974 before the quartz crisis quashed production. The 7750 was released again in 1985 once people had realised quartz was dull.

·Ummm, am I allowed to post my Snorkel in bits?? She's going through a clean and as I'm taking it apart it looks like I might need a new
clutch wheel (part #17) and winding pinion (#18) and as I cannot find anything specific to the movement number (11AOACB) I'm thinking these might be shared parts with other movements. I've found an old "shared parts catalog" from 1959 but it doesn't go up to the movement number I need so is there a more recent version of this parts catalog? and it doesn't go as far as AOACB.

Winding and sliding pinions for the 11AOC and 11AOCD are the same.

·Seeing as this will be my 200th post, I figured I'd post a picture of something special I've been working on these past few months since taking my Grandfather's Bulova out of it's box (pictured far left below).
Now I seem to have a collection of Omega, Hamilton and now Bulova.....
