Looks interesting. Worth throwing less that 100 at a lot that contains some omega quartz as well? Going off soon. Obviously would need service and repair. Missing crown

Landeron 48 in a “clamshell” case. I have its twin.

Skyrocketed to $416 in the last seconds. I let it go. Thanks for jumping in to assist. You’ve got a great looking watch!

I’d say yes! For sure! Whether you keep it, or flip it. Of course, add the cost of service to purchase price and you might find yourself keeping it. If it runs and if it your intention is to flip it, replace that disgusting crystal and clean it up cosmetically, and sell it as is. Your call.

If the subject Bucherer sold for the paltry sum of $416.00, then I’m keepin’ mine! I would suggest that you sell it as is, if $416.00 is all folks will pay for these. Servicing will likely cost in the range of 3 to 4 hundred if you’re careful. But it could cost a lot more. I serviced my own, and it is a sizeable job!

I found it as it was in the waning minutes of the auction. I’m not knowledgeable enough to pull the trigger quickly and they way the bids jumped, someone put a max bid that I wouldn’t have thought to put. Learn something knew every day. That’s why I’m here…that I get to hang out with the cool kids is icing on the cake.

So, did you buy it, or did you not?

That’s about what a gold plated landeron chronographe suisse goes for. If the rest of the lot had any value it could have been an ok buy. But you should be aware that a chronograph service can be expensive especially when the watch is old and neglected. Personally I would recommend looking for one in a stainless case to better justify the expense.

I guess I wuz lucky. I got my Bucherer with the Landeron 48 movement for free! And I serviced it myself! It’s still not for sale for $416.00!
