Offering FS (Head only) is my very nice, 60's Aquastar Benthos 500 in excellent original condition.
Built like a tank! this was the first 500m dive watch.
-Original untouched dial
-Original lume with warm matching
patina on the hands (although the chronostop hand has just been relumed as it had fallen out.)
-Signed Aquastar screw-down crown,
-Beautiful early acrylic bezel appears black or blue depending on the light.
-The case is in excellent, unpolished condition.
Just serviced by "Thewatchguy" in the UK so all functions work perfectly, including the 60-minute Chronostop function

The first Aquastar diving watch was called the “Benthos 500” produced between the years 1962 and 1972.
The source of the name “Benthos" was from the Greek word for the “Bottom of the sea” as the depth rating for the watch was 500 meters, quite significant at the time of its release.
This was accomplished through the utilization of a rounded O-rings patented by Aquastar (opposed to the traditional flat O-rings at the time) and a 4mm crystal.
An Aquastar was the first and only watch to be worn at the deepest dive ever made in history – the DeepSea Challenge, where divers descended the Mariana Trench.
Worn by the American oceanographer and explorer Don Walsh and Jacques Cousteau and his team during their many filmed dives in the 1960s, Aquastars became particularly famous amongst the diving fraternity,
