For the record, my vintage FLY NAVY bumper sticker [installed yesterday due to unsightly damage on my vehicle] is NOT fake…

Nooo...

Bummer!

The Mad Dog Interceptor is wounded?

Say it ain't so!

I have allowed for your Jade Falcon heresy for too long.. this was a step over the line!

As one of the most accomplished Mech Pilots on the planet, I must put an end to your Clannish ways.

My Resume
VGL Master Pilot Doom Site 13 - Costa Mesa plus multiple Picards and Tesla Pins for tournament wins
Winner of the Mechwarrior Online Launch Tournament
Tabletop player for almost 30 years.
DCI Top 100 WoTC Battletech CCG, and builder of the winning deck from the only championship tournament held.

Of course, this is all meaningless lol.

This reminds me... I bought a boatload of battletech miniatures last year and still need to paint them. I was very excited but then quickly realized that my 6-year-old does not care about uniform paint schemes.

The Mad Dog Interceptor is wounded [again]…and I just saw this sign at the gym…apparently I’m not allowed to throw or kick anybody’s balls [including my balls] at the ceiling or walls…

That sure was a lot of words just to say "I am a filthy freeborn" 😗😉

But in all seriousness, it is nice to meet another fan, does not seem like there are many. I started playing the RPG/tabletop sometime in the mid 90s and played pretty consistently for several decades.

And.... @Foo2rama the heresy runs deep here.

My son's backpack:

Another patch I had made up:

If you or @Dsloan would like the honor of a Falcon Guard (ca. 3052) or Jade Falcon patch.... let me know.

@Dsloan have fun painting them with your kids. I'll probably do that at some point- many of these I painted nearly 30 years ago and many need to be stripped. Painting them may eventually be a fun project with my kids!

Wow, I'm accustomed to doing the time travel thing here on OF with all these beautiful vintage watches (and the stories behind them). But the Battletech CCG? That's seriously ancient, haven't thought of it in years.

I doff my cap to you, sir.

Now I have to get rid of the Mechwarrior 2 intro running through my head again ;-)

What a great thread, it seems there are at least four of us.

Reactor online
Sensors online
Weapons online
All systems nominal

I’ve been furiously gardening last few days. 5 yards of mulch, filling patio pots, finishing off some interior wall repairs as well. 7 pages…Wow…Guess I’ll need to mix a cocktail and go on this retroactive journey.

Nice- what all have you planted? I'm probably headed to the nursery on saturday to get a butterfly bush or two and do some re-work of the front garden.

I am the human equivalent of a garden tractor/field hand. I don’t think, I do what she who must be obeyed commands. But … spring greens, jalapeño, peas, bell peppers, pole beans, tomatoes, basil and herbs … plus her floral endeavors.

Seven pages of train wreck and not a single Snorkel.

Just got back from the local plant sale. I have an hour to do a month's worth of work.

I got some fig scions last winter. Still in the fridge. Probably getting too late for them. Was going to sharpen a knife, sat down at the watch bench and got fiddling with watches...

So many things I want to do, can do and would like to do. Last week the oven went out, then the dishwasher and now the water heater.

I only had three months to get ready for the local makerspace S.T.E.A.M. fair which is tomorrow. Nothing ready.

Time, use it or loose it.

This is the water cooler thread? Right?

You’re too late to receive your free insult from @Nicewatcher unfortunately. @Maddog is a bit pissed on account of his car being wounded, if you approach that opportunity deftly, then an insult might be arranged.

I feel the pain @Mad Dog
Like you I keep my cars in nice shape and when I have a good one that I love I hang on to it. This was the case with my 2006 Audi A3- owned it since 2010 and it was (note the past tense) an outstanding car. I have a much newer car that I love but that Audi was just a workhorse and a pleasure to drive…and then March 17th happened.
Nice spring evening, my wife and I are sitting on our patio enjoying the weather and I see a DPW sewage truck rolling down our street silently. I had enough time to look at my wife and say “that truck is awfully quiet- perhaps it’s a new electric truck?” Than I heard the unmistakable sound of crunching sheet metal and multiple cars impacting with car alarms going off- and saw my poor Audi jump up on the curb.

The truck was parked up the street as a crew was clearing a sewer line. They were working half a block away and nobody was in the truck when the air brakes let loose and the truck rolled down the street and into ALL THREE of our cars! The Audi took the brunt.
Love every day with our precious older low-tech buggies- you never know when their time is up.
