I just wanted to look at non-technical, simple view of the watch in real life. and how it will fit on my wrist. CLASSIC!

I bought twice as the first one wasn't in great shape anymore. Over polished

    The Pros:
The closest thing to the perfect diver in my opinion. It was the watch that made me comfortable selling my last Submariner...and years later, still no regrets. Super comfortable thanks to a great bracelet with superior clasp. great dial with the discreet white on black date window. Super thin case design due in large part to the modified 1120 ETA movement and the low-profile scalloped rotating bezel (which I NEVER have trouble turning).
high clarity domed sapphire crystal with interior surface AR coating, nice 41mm case width. Amazingly bright lume with large, yet tasteful markers and sword hands. And delicate splash of color due to the red-tipped seconds hand. Tasteful, bling-free painted (not applied) logo and no white gold surrounds on the lume plots...peftect!
And even now in 2016, kind of a sleeper and WAY UNDER-VALUED.

The Cons: (very few): and these are mine only.
-the He escapement valve: I have mixed feelings. For me, it's completely useless and it perhaps detracts from the esthetics.
-I wish the "Seamaster" script was on the 12 o'clock half of the dial right under "OMEGA" as it looks a bit out of balance the way it is.

I'm a recent convert to this watch. From a functional perspective I think it's objectively better than a Sub 16610 with the exception of the crown (sub crowns really comfy to operate).

I have nothing to complain about this watch except for the color of the bezel - could have been better with grey and in fact I have one with a ghosted bezel that is in fact now gray. So I got my perfect sword hands!

And the lume, it beats a Planet Ocean.

Agreed, the larger crown of the Sub is hard to beat...
You gotta post photos of that ghost bezel....how did you create that?

Have a similar version of this and the video is right, "it's a keeper" one of my favorite watches...

Sheer luck, it was sun-faded. The blue-gray bezel insert adds a bit of depth and sophistication.

    Very nice!
One of things I don't care for (another minor one) is the polished center link trims. So I brushed them on mine and now I'm happy....

As an aside, i think there's too much infatuation with replacing the original dial with the so-called "non AC" dial that I kept seeing over and over again on a certain other watch forum.
I think the painted (non-applied) logo and lack of the gold plot surrounds give a much more sporty and "tool-like" appearance....IMHO of course!

I used to think the non-AC dial was the bees knees as well. Until I started comparing the SMP Sword Hands with the Sub. I like the 5513 (painted indices) over the 14060 (applied indices). Then I switched, I like painted indices more on the SMP!

Yup!....I hope those others come around too!...I don't care for the blingy white gold surrounds.
The other issue with the applied gold Omega symbol is that it's blacked out from certain angles whereas the painted Omega symbol is clearly visible from all angles.

I had one, but I have no regrets with replacing it with a coaxial gmt 2535.80 as I really enjoy the extra complication when traveling.

I’ve had my 2254 since 2007 and used to be my daily wearer. Now it gets worn every couple weeks. I love the watch, just hate the tiny crown, and that’s honestly the only gripe I’ve had with it.

I've received yesterday this strap from Omega. Fits very well, the quality is outstanding.
My 2254 shares her time on my wrist with this beauty... IMG_20191107_124412.jpg IMG_20191107_124435.jpg IMG_20191022_222821.jpg IMG_20191104_202315.jpg
