Fingers crossed. I have had luck with some spectacular watches from some places with bad reputations- and yes, eBay should have your back.
Yeah I’m honestly not worried about it. I’ve had good experiences on eBay. Worst case scenario is I wasted some of my time.

Really nice one. What's the texture on this dial called?
I’ve been calling it grey linen but I have no idea if that’s correct.

That's what you get when you don't separate your dark washing from light colours. Or so my wife used to intone every time I chucked everything in the machine together.

Likewise so is your incoming. With the white dial on mine it's very difficult to capture the texture of the dial, and my complete lack of photo skills doesn't help 😁

Mine has been in our collection for decades, and has a long story on it's history, spanning from being found at the Manson murder house up in Benedict Canyon by detectives, to me getting it from the owner of the house years later.

I don't see any lume on the dial except maybe on the 4 o'clock marker. Maybe the rest was removed at some point. No biggie.

I noticed that as well and assumed the same. The lume on the hands looks like it’s partially still there? But I’m not counting on it.

Interesting possibly, but probably not historical as the detectives back then established that it wasn't owned/worn by anyone related to the incident. However there is more to the back story that some might find interesting so if there is a thread on unusual watch histories then I'm gonna post it 👍

Just want to update this thread. Received this thing today and it is all it was advertised as. Will take more photos tomorrow in better light 😀

Yeah. It is highly dependent on the light, which I love. It honestly looks like the texture of a nice suit.

It did lmao. I kept joking with my wife that this would be the worlds longest wait to receive a rock in the mail. But the guy was reputable on eBay so I wasn’t really worried. Watch is precisely as described. Has a small scratch on the dial but I actually noticed that in the photos beforehand and it is very minor. Doesn’t bother me.

Movement serial & markings on the caseback match the listing. Movement looks beautifully kept! Fresh gasket too which verifies enough for me that it was indeed serviced like the seller says.
