Just got this one owner Speedmaster through the door. It's never been serviced so remains original right down to the 'quick release' spring bars.
The dial could be better, but is the correct radium version and, hey, this was a relative bargain at £2,000 I think (one of these 7912 bracelets sold for £1,200 the other day.) the owner has the box somewhere and has promised to forward it to me when found.
I'm guessing the reference is 2998, but it could also be a 105.002. I can't get the back off yet, its very stiff, which is common with unserviced watches as the rubber o-ring turns to a gluey, tar-like substance over time.
This is un-cleaned, just as it came.

Good buy. If you play the odds you'd have to say it is a 2998. Love the crisp case.

Very nice. Would love to find one of these at a garage sale or little shop for cheap. ;)
