Seeing the inner caseback on your last photo makes me really wonder about the above quote. The 2404 is clearly visible, as are serial numbers, etc. which would have told you 90% of what you need to know 😀
If you don't mind me asking, do you also know anything about brands like Movado and Nomos? I have old pieces of it together with the old Omega. I tried googling the Movado one but I can't seem to find the same model but all I know is that the whole thing is 18k white gold (hallmarks of 750 k18 etc.). Nomos is pretty much in every watch store in Germany so I guess its common. Or this forum is only for Omegas??

Movado is a very difficult company to get information on vintage watches.

They have little interest in their history outside of the Museum watch and the company has been sold so many times, their records are spotty or non-existent.

I see, because I am planning a diamond bracelet project and I would need 18k white gold. Was thinking of just melting the whole thing down and use it to make several pieces of jewelry. But yeah, before i do that, maybe its stupid if melt down a watch without first finding out if its an important piece.

Absolutely investigate it before you melt. We have seen several watch movements/dials pop up online which were clearly from melted watches and had the seller done a few minutes of research- could have tripled their money and preserved a lovely watch
