Very close now! Update - Closure!

Ohhh! It is very close now! Time, pressure and some money and it will be mine. Been seaching like crazy and I have given up several times. Suddenly by total chance I met a guy wearing one!!!

He is interested in watches but not a collector. He had bought it in a antiques shop (gooood - as it does not have sentimental value to him).

It might take some time but it will be mine.

A Polarouter de luxe with SAS dial. 138 bumper. Sorry for the bad pics but I was trembling.

Makes me want to go antiquing in Sweden. And nothing has ever made me want to use antique as a verb before.

It cost me a very nice black dial Rolex Datejust 16013 on strap in trade but now it is mine!

One thing that becomes clear when studying it closer is that the SAS logo is hand cut into the gold dial. When looking at it normally it looks perfect but when thru a loupe or in the pictures below it shows it is really hand made. One can only speculate in how many of these they made and to whom they were given. I will do my best to research it.

Tonight I am going to celebrate!

Sorry for the bad pictures. Better will be taken after it comes back from my watchmaker. The movement will get a service from him and some light cleaning/detailing of glass and case by me.

One thing I have noticed - I thought the case would be the same as my other De Luxe Polarouter cal 138 shown above. It is not. I will show the differences later.
