So, I was browsing the usual alerts I get for Constellations and series of them popped up for the upcoming Veritas watch auction, 1 Oct, in Lisbon.
They have 16 vintage Constellations up for auction - all described, as a minimum, as "good condition".

The problem is that 9 out of the 16 are obvious redials - and out of those that aren't, two of those with correct dials have either the wrong hands or case back.

The estimates, being generous, are strong even if the watches were all correct
(to be absolutely fair a number of them are 18k cases - so there is intrinsic value in the case but some of the gold cap and SS estimates are pretty crazy)

For accuracy, there is a lovely Grand Luxe on its brick bracelet with box and papers and a decent SS C-case but I was thinking of our new member looking for a watch for her husband's birthday and had to call these watches out for what they are.

I don't think the descriptions reflect very well on the auction house. (or some of the estimates for that matter)

Here are a couple of the 'best' (remember - all "good condition")
I suppose the most egregious is the last one as it purports to be an early 2700, with what looks like a pink gold case

The top two look more like black dials with heavy patina than cross hair dials.

What would be the category below “beater”?
