This weekend will see the next round of important watch auctions, including the PWA Geneva 9. There are quite a number of interesting Omega lots: Lot 86 - 145.012-67 SP with Racing dial (pre-professional!!) - Hammer price: 57,000CHF Comments: - from a video of the Davidoff bros, my understanding is that this is UBER rare. Could true experts please comment further on this? Lot 131 - 145.012-67 SP with tropical dial - Hammer price: 11,000CHF Comments: - Of course the 8 - 12,000 estimate is ridiculously low... Lot 134 - BA 145.022 yellow gold #236 - Hammer price: 72,000CHF! Comments: - seems to be in excellent condition as well. - see Fratello article with comments from Davidoff bro Sacha Lot 174 - cal. 33.3 pink gold with multi scale dial - Hammer price: 26,000CHF Comment: - is this the same watch or a similar one to the one that was on the Hodinkee shop for a little while? Please discuss…
Actually... take this back: huge delay between room and application. No opportunity to bid right now...
Surprised by the relative low price for the Ayrton Daytona... probably because the video didn't roll...
The listed estimates are WAY off so far since started watching. Do they do that to drum up more interest leading up to the auction?
I’m interested in 90 and 92. Not to bid, way to rich for me, but it’s interesting how far the DSA has overtaken the Polaris in terms of desirability.
Lot sold as an original DSA and a modern one makes it a bit more complex to decipher the head to head comparison.
Someone got a deal on the Polaris - just about 22k all in. I was bidding on the Geophysic - but had to stop myself so I don’t end up in divorce court...
I keep half an eye on Polaris and DSA sales (mainly cos I’ve got some DSA buts and if a case ever shows up and need to know how much to spend). I’m pretty sure around 4-5 years ago a Polaris was more than a DSA but that’s definitely reversed now. And the Geophysic certainly ran away but it looked to be a beautiful example.
