    HI All

Bit hard to write this post but long story short looks like i'm going to be taking the new company I'm supposedly transfering over to tomorrow to Tribunal as they are refusing to take me and i'm protected by TUPE law.

Ive decided to sell the Ed White as I need to buy a car as for the last 9 years its been a company car.

Its was a toss up between the 105.012 or the 105.003

    65 Ed white
    I will say Brown dial
Near perfect DON tiny chip at 3o'clock position
Undated 1035 bracelet with 506 end links
    Correct Crown
Comes with extract stating delivered to UK May 1967

Dial and hands except Chrono hand thats original lume Relumed by James Hyman
Watch was serviced by Omega back in November 2017
    Case was refinished by Omega

Serveral OF members have seen this watch in person and all have told me how stunning it looks

Im looking for a fair price I should list it at

    Beautiful piece!

I assume you’ve seen my threads about the two Ed Whites I just grabbed off eBay. One of them, the ‘UK Ed White’, is only ten serial numbers away from your watch. A4A1C715-E821-4ED2-90A5-18FFBFE89A03.jpeg

Your bezel is better than either of mine and it looks like your case is better too. Neither of mine came with a bracelet. Yours has service pushers and both of mine still have their originals.

I’m not a fan of the dial however. The lume color is great, but the splotches and lume color bleeding detract for me. Obviously, for people who love the dial, I’ve seriously undervalued the watch; to each his own.

IMHO, $18.0k, given that the market is starting to feel softer. I paid around $11.5k for each of the two I just picked up, which was a deal, from what I can gather.

    Again, beautiful piece. GLWS!

I would say that your dial is unique and , in my eyes, very attractive.::love::

I suppose all you need is two or more buyers who feel the same way.
Value?.... Speedmaster101 'good' values it at $17,000. Interestingly, none of those for sale on Chrono24 reach that price. Very difficult to know how to calculate the added value of the unique dial and near perfect bezel???::confused2::

I think one or two of us will be interested to see how this progresses @bags1971.

I would say a near perfect bezel is implied in the 'good' category.

Personally I think the case should be in between running and good as it's been refinished.

The dial is a funny one. It's been relumed which should prevent it reaching 'good' status but it looks very attractive which elevates it more than the equivalent black dial.

So all in, id suggest probably 3/4 of the way between running and good + bracelet. Then again, like anything, if someone just has to have that dial it may go for more.

Having held this watch…the seeming ‘patchiness’ of the Brown, in the images…is not actually apparent visually

It all merges together, as a glorious warm tone… that is very distinctive, & attractive

Very best wishes for the Sale, John…I suspect it will absolutely fly… with a Global audience,… on eBay

Take as many images, as you can…be descriptively accurate…and stand back to watch the fun !

I'm with David on this one, somewhere between 10-12k for the head, plus 2k or so for the bracelet and ends.

While I prefer the look of a relumed dial over a washed or grubby one, a relume is still a relume, so the value of the dial, imho, is: cost of better dial - price selling this dial achieves = about -2k on the value of the watch overall.

There is nothing wrong with buying, wearing or enjoying a relumed warch, but it does affect value.

    Best of luck Bags!

What a crap situation, I wont go in to details on a public forum but I am very familiar (thankfully not from a personal perspective) of your situation and if you are protected by TUPE then see it through, a tribunal judge will look at the facts of the case and draw and appropriate conclusion, there are plenty 'a' legal mind on here who I'm sure can offer impartial advice should you need it (the benefit of a strong and close community) . I concur with oddboy on this one, a lovely looking watch and you should easily move it on for that sort of money

hope your situation improves and no doubt you will move the watch on quickly

    Cheers Tom

I was talking in USD$ (as that's the currency The Price Chart uses)

...edit: and just for clarity, my guesstimate of 10-12K already accounts for the deduction for dial (but not the bracelet)... so all in somewhere around 12-14K.

I'd agree with that. It a very attractive watch but has been worked on which will affect value.

With the right buyer you may achieve a touch more in the U.K. given the relative rarity of vintage Speedmasters compared to the US.

Agree with David, entirely ( no surprise there ! )

I have seen poorer examples, go higher in ‘bricks & mortar’ Auction Houses…but with higher commission fees

Your selling liability is only £250 maximum, on eBay…but would be surprised if it leaves the Country

    Fascinating.

So, I clearly must defer to @oddboy and @Davidt , who I recognize as being much more knowledgeable.

@bags1971 : I suggest that if you list it for $12k, it will be sold in days; if you list it at my suggestion of value, it would take much longer, unless somebody comes along and falls in love with the dial. On that basis, I have to acknowledge they’re closer to the right number than I was.

(If, in person, a ‘repaired’ case is virtually indistinguishable from a pristine one, I don’t down grade it much. From the photos, the case looks pretty good. That’s part of the valuation difference. But only part.)

I think I stand corrected. Not for the first or last time.

you Can always just list it here at what you think is fair. If by any chance it doesn’t sell. Just drop it a couple bucks.

I see a lot of people with dogs in the fight... Good for me I don't have a 321! :(

In my view the market is a bit slow right now. Could be Ed whites are going back down for good, could be summer slow-down. Either way I don't think now is best time to sell. But if you need the money now, you need the money now...

Normally, if a watch is 100% original a $1 eBay auction is best. I do think this is a niche watch given the (great) work done. Finding *that* buyer is key. If selling privately, have an optimistic target in mind and adjust as you see fit.

The other route is to try consigning it with a dealer that believes in the piece too.. Not sure how much you'd walk away with in that situation though.

Hope your fortunes change and things work out for you. :)

This is the first time I've heard of TUPE laws so it's piqued my interest. I understand the desire to avoid the abuse of power in a capitalistic system. However, how do companies reconcile a situation where the transferring employee's previous terms and conditions are superior to their colleagues in the acquiring company? Wouldn't that create tension?

As far as selling the watch, I agree with @BenBagbag that eBay auction would be one of the most efficient ways to sell it.
