It just strikes me as too “perfect” I detect shenanigans with this as we see with many vintage seiko of value

The only shenanigans was trying to align the case in my drill press to remove the stem tube, it took longer to do that than actually drill it!

I think I finally got it. Me watch ticks a bit slow, the gears still keep moving, I put 2 + 2 together.

😀

“It was me, Your Honour”

It was basically having a shot at overpriced watches by sellers and showing that a seller has the right to ask whatever he wants and believes a watch is worth. Also showing that providence is worth $$ also.

I still laugh at the “Snoopy blue bezel” and “case eroded by time”

Glad I bought a smile to many who have read the thread.

I understood Andy's "sales" post, and it prompted me to keep the theme going as I had just finished servicing this watch, it's probably even more worn than his, but with some TLC it's now a fully functional and very accurate tool watch.

As to actual value, I don't think my mate would even consider selling it for the price it could realistically achieve, but like Andy, he could put any eye watering price he wanted on the watch, and if it didn't sell I don't think he'd be disappointed.

PS: Hey @Dan S did we really make it to MWR? Need a link if it's true 😁.

Is this one of those modded Seikos I see all over eBay (and in some dark corners of OF 😉)? I like the ‘shabby chic’ bezel 👍

All absolutely original except for crystal, bezel seal, pusher seal, caseback seal, spring bars, crown and stem tube and accumulator.

All parts usually but not always replaced at a proper service.
