Most of the value comes from coming from your grandpa. Moneywise, a few hundreds. Dial seems to have been tinkered with.

    Hello,

The dial looks original - better pics would help to be sure though- but has been poorly relumed.

I cant tell about value, but I assure you that if you give it a good cleaning of case and polish a plexi a little bit your watch will look 50% better.

I don’t think any further pics are needed. Relumed dial otherwise in decent condition, nice colour, small case size which is typical for the era at circa 33mm. Dates from around 1953 give or take a year. Originally water resistant, not any longer. Possibly non original crown.

I read your post on my phone, and the first time I looked at it, only the first pic of the dial showed up. Now that I can see all of them, I agree that no other or better pics are required! Sorry for that.

    So original relumed dial!

Do you think it has any worth? Other that it's from my granddad?
    Thanks. :)

Listing it on ebay is the fastest way of knowing anything's market worth.

I’ll explain. We are a little wary of uncle watches on here. What I mean by that is we get noobs who ask for help about a family piece but seem more interested in the value than anything else. The suspicion is that the post is really a lazy unauthorised sales thread for something picked up at a thrift shop or boot sale and after seeing dozens of such posts, the regulars are a little suspicious. This is why people are reluctant to talk value. After all, If your story is true, why would you sell? As it is bank on an eBay sale of a few hundred Euros or pounds, which is what you were told earlier in the thread. Posters like this hit and run, take the info given, use the place as a shop window then are gone like a fart in the night. Not saying that is you but this is why you aren’t getting hugs and kisses just in case.

Sure! It is a decent Omega with an original dial - although badly relumed. I do not know the market value for this reference, but it should be worth a few hundreds euros - rather around 300 that around 700!

Just for my own education, how can you tell it is relumed? The color of the tritium?

The color gives an indication, but the red flag is the sluggish way it has been put on the dial. By the way, it is likely luminova or some other current lume. You can have an idea of how were the old lume looking at the 12 spot - and of course by looking at untouched dials with the same kind of lume.
