Recently added to my collection via a group of watches I bought. Keen to know more. Couldn’t see anything in AJTT. I believe a US cased model from mid 1950s. This is a beauty in unworn condition. Cal 500. 16m serial. Caseback 21816278-E366-4B06-B06A-7CA9F185D961.jpeg DF70F06E-CAB6-4B8E-98A3-444034EC95F5.jpeg 7CA2F4F2-9F4B-4976-A194-553E12D4BB08.jpeg marked Ross. GX629. Love the milled bezel and disco-volante style case. (Google the Alfa car to understand the reference!).

I'm always extra suspicious of black print on light dials. Compare yours to this one:

Valid point. But I am certain this is totally original. It was untouched unpolished unrestored - look at the Florentine bezel! - and when I opened the caseback I gasped then smiled. The movement is so beautiful and clean. Under a loupe you can see raised print. Very difficult to capture on an iPhone but here goes... 9DB7A5A9-6794-4967-A6AC-64EF3C79ECDD.jpeg

A cliche but factory fresh. It came from a collection of dress watches from a single owner and all were stunningly original. I got lucky.

And similar shot of 55 Seamaster. Heavily patinated and jolly hard to photograph! 131D92A4-F5C9-4140-AB90-F9B6512CAA17.jpeg

Exactly the same print level and font.

Another Norman Morris special. There were a huge number of US cased models, the variety continues to surprise me and this one looks totally original.
