URGENT ADVICE! Buyer is claiming item is not new and not authentic. How should I proceed?

A lot of speculation and skepticism in this group. I previously purchased the bracelet ONLY from a seemingly honest seller for a not so extortionate price. I sold it on as I was downsizing the collection and had this issue crop up. I didn’t even think these excellent replicas existed but now that’s a lesson learnt, case closed, buyer refunded. Very obvious signs with the warranty card and end links - lack of due diligence on my part. The bracelet will be rightfully binned and I’ll be seeking a refund 👍

Ah! I didn't realize you were a re-seller of the bracelet and not the owner of the watch itself.

Might want to alert the person you bought it from that their warranty cards don't look right and they should look into where they got their watch.

OP is online as I write this, he visited 3 minutes ago, but he hasn't provided any more information on origin of watch, sales venue, or better pictures of the watch head. Something doesn't line up here.

Frankly, he was right, something DIDN'T line up. I would expect the owner of a watch being told it was a fake to be upset/responding quickly with questions/etc (from experience here!), and you weren't. SO it didn't line up. Obviously you didn't react like someone being told their watch was fake, because it wasn't your watch.

Also, chill... Evitzee is one of the folks who helps a ton of people out here, just because he gets suspicious when you're cagey with facts, doesn't mean you should be a jerk to someone helping you out.

Creating drama for drama’s sake. I’m chill, thanks. With the greatest of respect, you don’t need to keep commenting. We found a solution.

Oh boy... not only does he sell counterfeit goods, he gets snarky about it when people get suspicious of his omissions! Not sure you'll be a particularly appreciated member here unless you check the attitude. You got your free advice, good grief, no sense in being ungrateful/rude.

If these fakes are getting so close to the real thing… it makes you wonder..

The outsides are pretty close, but I'm told it is obvious side-by-side. The movements are also dressed up nicely to look like the real thing from the outside, but pretty clearly fake once you're into it. The Rolex ones they do a better job with, but the movements are still pretty clearly fake.

It's not what I understood reading your first post so maybe that's where the confusion started and then spiralled.

I sold an SMP 300 bracelet which had previously been on a Summer Blue SMP 300

I hope you get to return it without any problems.

Everyone saying that’s the buyer opened it etc so it’s his. Unfortunately that’s not how eBay works. Unless you can prove that it is authentic by way of a receipt and also show before/after pictures clearly showing the buyer Cas used wear, eBay are highly likely to side with the buyer and force you to accept a return.
Basic business ethics to be expected across-the-board. Any buyer has the right to inspect whether or not he has been sold a fake.

I had the same feeling with Rolex fake bracelets, the quality nowadays is amazing.

Fortunately the movements still look like shit once you worked on the real deal, so I guess the same applies to these Omega

Thanks for all your help guys, I managed to get a refund on the bracelet (after some difficult persuading). Apologies for the frosty replies, quite a frustrating situation to be in but favourable outcome for all parties. Lesson learnt for sure

Wow! What a good outcome. I thought you were toast for sure. Next time you think of it, post a picture of a watch here! We'd love to see a picture of a watch...

I'm sure it is a crappy feeling. Been there. Burned by a Tudor sub and Airman. Wore them for years with pride.....then the gut punch.
A fake Glycine?

Yep. Plenty of them out there. Let me know if you want to see it. Purchased many years ago.
