@abrod520, what's the significance of the coffee "before" instead of after? 馃槣

Eh, sometimes I'll inadvertently get all jacked up on caffeine, then end up hunting down watches with all the extra energy 馃榿 Almost bought a few watches I can't afford that way!

It's a disease, really 馃槈

Well clearly things happen even without the caffeine 馃榿

Nice example, particularly for tropical fans. While not the rarest of references, it is not so easy to find a decent specimen.

here's another from the watchbox

Thanks @LouS, that deep black looks like a beautiful lacquer.
Do you know whether anyone has tried to pay the XXx swiss francs for a Zenith extract of archives, whether they do have proper archives over that time period?

There's no point paying that fee if others have tried and found that searches don't turn up anything.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
Best regards,
S

It does photograph very well this one and mine has a nice coppery tone when the daylight catches it just right.

Thanks so much Lou!
Are you referring to this particular watch, or more generally?
Wondering if there's any info at least as to whether their archives are generally well preserved and useful.

@cristos71, that top strap is great too -- and those are beautiful pictures !
(the top one is particularly creative -- and just with those two watches in the last pic you have one kick ass collection).

The top picture was taken on Christmas Day whilst I was preparing the traditional accompaniment to our turkey dinner, the humble Brussel sprout 馃榾

Any watch. Zenith has only been offering EOAs recently, and I'm not aware of anyone who has gotten one - I've never seen one, so I don't know what info it contains.

Thanks so much.
It'll be interesting to see what info they have about a defunct country.

Congrats!
The good ones often seen to arrive in obscure ways. I am a huge fan of the Excelsior Park calibers.
Your Zenith version is truly one of the coolest out there.
I am shure it will clean up very well. Pushers are available. Perhaps Peter Wyss http://www.ebay.fr/usr/esa-9162-9164 can help you out. He has (at least used to have) heaps of EP stuff in stock.

Looking forward to seeing much more of it!

Thanks @ELVweb, too bad I didn't see this link before -- I already filled in the request on line.

So far those 120 Swiss Francs look a more questionable expense than the chronograph itself.
The request is a form with up to 6 pictures, case back number and movement serial --that's IT.
Pictures have to be so shrunk (500KB), I'm not sure what will be visible.
There's no place to provide any comments, or info, or supply the caliber when it's not a Zenith serial number.
I had to use a message appended to the Paypal payment for "instructions to seller".
Wait and see.

@Syrte

You've made two great finds with the JLC & now this one ( not to mention Longines and others! ).馃憤

As you have learned, the research, the comaraderie with like-minded folk, the thrill of the hunt and, ultimately, the find are all significant parts of the fun in this hobby of ours.

I really hate to see you stop now, and lose out on more of that fun! 馃檨

With only your best interests in mind, I therefore offer to step in and take one or the other (or both) off your hands, so that you may continue unfettered in your pursuit of this watch sport, and start looking for your next one. 馃槜

Whuuuut? what's this mindset of instant gratification?
It took me a year and a half of hard slog to find that JLC, and almost a year now for the chronograph -- and you'd like to get them instantly and without an effort?!?
With only your best interest at heart, I think you'd be spoiling yourself the fun of the search and the wait!!
You need to work harder if you're ever to enjoy the prize 馃お
(And you might --just might -- have too many watches too, by the way - that's another concern).
