And here's the final picture. Got it back from my watchmaker, now with its original crown and hands, which I had put aside after the Service by Omega Pforzheim. Im absolutely fine and glad with the result.
Thank your for sharing my thread and guiding me to this point with all your pros and cons!
Dear Members,
some time ago this was my first post with which I began my membership in this wonderful forum.
My problem was the twice-restored dial and the resulting loss of original character.
It didn’t give me any peace, so I kept casually searching for an old replacement dial—technically (Jumbo) and visually fitting. It was important to me that the dial shouldn’t look too clean, since the old original one also showed the marks of time.
Here you can now see the result. I worked up the courage to change the dial myself, but unfortunately the setting lever screw fell to the floor in the process—basically into a black hole…
A new screw will now be the next challenge 😀.
Nevertheless, I’m happier with it now and enjoy wearing the watch again.
I found out, that the missing setting lever screw for Cal. 283 and family should be Part No. 2406.
Can anyone confirm this please?
I think I found one on Ebay.
