Hello

Trying to understand if this is real Omega and where would be the best place to have it restored if it is genuine. The front glass is off and and not running. Has the serial number 151844 07 stamped with Cashier also has a hand scribed number towards the edge

Any information is appreciated just started collecting older Omega watches.

Welcome to the forum. Can you provide a pic of the movement please?

Edit: any reputable local watchmaker will get it serviced for you. Yours has a chipped and cracked dial, but seems fine otherwise if the case works properly. I don’t see a financial upside to undergoing a full restoration. A simple service alone will likely cost the same as your watch, in Canada at least, $300 for service and another $300 to $400 for a watch in good shape with a nice case and dial.

Looks good to me, what makes you think it's not an Omega?

I believe it may well be a 19'" movement. You'd have to measure the movement to be sure because many Omega pocket watch movements look very similar, but it's their sizes that define which movement it is.

You'll want to get it cleaned, as in serviced, if you plan on wearing it. As for restoration, that all depends on what that means to you and what you want this watch to be.
