Hello,

It's been a long time since I participated and read in this forum that the pointy 'A' in Universal Genève was proof that the dial was refinished...
Since then, I've seen quite a few dials having this pointy 'A' and being considered by everyone as 'Authentic', moreover there are many of them in Sala's book. What do you think ?

That 1st dial looks fine to me. Sort of a flat pointy eh?

In this Era UG had a multitude of dial makers & there's no hard / fast rules at least for me.

I'm not aware of any absolute rules about anything with UG. The first dial is good, I wouldn't consider it especially pointy, still kinda flat A. The Uni Compax dial I can't tell from that one picture. Offhand it looks weird to me, but would need more and better res pics.
Anyhow I would normally consider all kinds of variables together in assessing a dial, not just one thing.

Can you show a picture of the back of the dial?
