the red numbers on part of the tachymeter have worn off. Otherwise, that's a good dial.

Interesting, has my eye because of the price. Dial looks great (to me). Pushers (& crown?) are wrong, I think. Unless there was some variation I don't know about. Green dot at 12 on the bezel? Someone trying to get creative?

Besides the above, movement looks ok to me, case decent, and dial nice. Still debating the sub-dial hands. What say others?

Update: Seller posted side pic to disclose pushers/crown. Confirmed crown is indeed a replacement.

Update #2: Oddly enough, this Space compax looks like the one to the right of this picture (even though the source was said to be not reliable):

I just love the sub second 40-50's UG's. I have this 14K beauty with original UG 14K buckle. Needs a crystal or Plexi not too bothered though. Still trying to figure out what 33W42 is ...

Anyone have any Idea ?

I think others have nailed the inscription. Here is one of my UGs from the 1950s.
Center seconds cal 332.

Dial and hands are both good. The case has been butchered/modified to fit standard pushers. The lume dot in the bezel has been re-done is modern green luminova. It should be a brownish orange.

Its missing the original crown. I thought about buying this watch before this seller acquired it. Its a lot of work for a project watch. If it was at the price tag it was offered to me which was considerably less, its still not worth a punt.

You would need to probably change the case and finding the crown is a task in itself. i know someone who's been looking for just a crown for this model for over a year.

Good point on the case being butchered/modified.. Those pushers are obviously not the right fit, but it never occurred to me that they would have to modify the case to fit them! After seeing/hearing that, certainly not touching this one.

That is certainly a beaut and at 62k Euro Grails don't come cheap. Given where they've traded recently though, not an unreasonable asking price. I'm not sure why no mil. markings on case back.....

Is there really an economic argument for college education?
Just wondering as I look at this with my teenage kids nearby.

Perhaps I can sell the apples from my three producing trees. Let's see, haven't been to the store in awhile, what are macouns and granny smiths going for these days?

These days, they exist solely to create debt, so you can't even give them away 馃槻...馃槖

Wonderful watch. All of the Valjoux 55vbr watches are grails in my book. Too bad about the caseback though. It looks to be an ill-fitting replacement
