The proportion of the indexes are certainly off, I would lean towards redial. The hands are also not correct.
Thank you so much for all the advice...My suspicion was first aroused when i noticed the Universal Geneve lettering was inside the moonphase. In the pictures on this forum they are all beneath the moonphase. Again, many thanks !
Can any of you recommend a shop or website where I can find an unredialed UG tricompax? Thank you once again.
I like it, although I'm not committing myself without a sharper pic. There is a lot right about it though.
Friend, there's no magic source for great watches. We all sift through tons of dross to find our gems. And you'd be wise not to cede judgment about originality to any dealer - that's a guaranteed way to get burned. Start sifting yourself, develop your eye and your judgment, and soon you'll have the watch you're looking for. A lot of the fun is in the hunt.
Looks pretty good, but like Lou said without a better picture, its hard to tell, but I lean towards original! Registers should have concentric circles.
Dear All, Would really appreciate the opinions of the experts here on whether this dial is authentic. Thank you in advance...
Redial plus it does look like one of the franken I miserably and unknowingly T_T took position of. These cal 291 for triple calendars, one better pop the case back to see the movement signature to be sure. If you can pop the back for people to see too then they can better help you.
The movement feels wrong, and looks exactly like the franken I own. You can look up proper cal 291 on the web and you will clearly see the signature on this movement seems misplaced (also the deep polish at the edge close to the signature is a give away).
