Universal Geneve SS Spider lugs, midsized case at 34.5mm without the crown. Case ref is 22250, serial places it between 1943-45. Silver dial w/ silver mirror numbers, silver leaf hands, and blued chrono sweep and sub hands, plus red date hand. 100% original (except case repair detailed below). Running well, all functions correct. Service history unknown and as always, recommend you budget a service. What's great: I love the spider lugs version of the Tri, dial is in good condition, w/ smiling moonphase, all hands correct, great looking watch overall. What's not great: At some point in the past, long before me, it looks like the upper right lug fell off and was re-attached. Whatever method used has caused a change in the color of the metal right at the join (just in the lug, not on the mid case). Also, if you check the profile photo, it looks to me the entire lug is sitting perhaps 1-1.5mm higher on the mid case. These issues are only noticeable if you look for them, they don't jump out at you when wearing the watch. I have included many photos of this area. Asking $4250 USD, net to me, paypal or bankwire. Pricing is a little subjective on this due to the case repair. I am guessing without that issue it would be worth around $5500 USD, so I have knocked $1250 off the price. I think this is more than fair, and if it really bothered you, I assume you could have the lug redone properly for a fraction of that discount. Correction........this watch has SILVER numbers and SILVER hands (not gold). It can be suprisingly hard to tell them apart, or maybe I am just colorblind. Here is the spider Tri sitting next to a sibling, which does have gold numbers and hands.
To chime in ... I get emails occasionally from folks looking at crap and bemoning the cost creep of a Tri. What you have here is a very nice watch with a repaired lug as the only and barely noticeable issue. Original moon too! Nice price indeed. Great seller!
