Here is your opportunity to get a very nice early 1960's Universal Geneve Polerouter. An iconic watch from the Universal Geneve manufacture. As many know, the Polerouter series was launched in honour of the Scandinavian Airlines System polar route between Copenhagen and Los Angeles using the Douglas DC-6B, a commercial first! It also helped launch the career of Swiss designer Gerald Genta. The UG Polerouter is instantly recognized by it's steel chapter ring on the inside of the dial, it was also used by other known and lesser known companies but I believe Polerouter series was the first. The watch features a micro rotor automatic movement and a relatively long power reserve (over 50 hours). It has not been polished, restored, altered or "colour matched" to enhance it's appearance. It was recently serviced (I believe for the first time!!). All parts except the crystal are original to the watch, the crystal was replaced when it was recently serviced with a NOS U logo crystal. The model and serial numbers are still very faintly visible between the lugs, unfortunately I couldn't capture it in the pictures. Dial: Silver with crosshair. Some spotting (see pictures) Case: Unpolished, stainless steel with twisted lugs, 35.5 mm diameter. Movement: Automatic microrotor **The sale is for the head only, the watch will not be delivered on a strap** Price: 1,400 USD Location: Montreal, Canada I've previously successfully sold to many members on this forum. PS. I have this same watch listed on eBay.
