Great looking Universal Geneve Uni Compax reference 32414, serial 15xx,xxx. In excellent mechanical condition. Movement is the renowened caliber 287 as used in many chronos (aero compax, compax etc). It is sparkling clean, just having been serviced and lubricated. Keeps excellent time and chronograph start/stop reset is crisp and work perfectly. This is the large oversize case measuring 37mm. Case is clean with some signs of wear to sides but does not have any signs of polishing with SS case back still showing brush marks. Reference and serial numbers are clearly visible. Crown is steel and is signed with U logo in cartucce (1950s UG logo). Dial in in good condition with some age related patina and some light marks. Numerals in art deco font which is quite unusual. All indices and markings are clearly visible. The dial is 100% original as are hands and not a reprint (quite rare nowdays). Comes with box which is a little weathered but in line with era and signed UG. In a nutshell, a nice original in all respects (apart from crown that may have been replaced from a non signed crown) rare and desirable UG uni-compax. Price is UKP 1750.00 ono
Sorry folks, assumed that the reference would have been sufficient to work out the case material. I should not have assumed! Just to clarify, case is chromed, case cover is in steel. Chrome case has some marks and some minor loss of chrome. Overall it is still in good condition.
