@SsipaC … If you are not selling it, why is it up on C24?

That’s a fair question, and I appreciate you asking.

I did upload the watch to Chrono24, but not with the intention of actively selling it. The listing was more of a way to archive it digitally, gather visibility for opinions, and to get a sense of how similar pieces are presented.

The price I set there isn’t reflective of what I’d actually expect—it’s intentionally high because I’m not really looking to sell. If anything, I’m still very much in the process of learning about the piece and its significance.

I understand how it could look contradictory, and I should have clarified that earlier. There was no intent to mislead anyone here—my appreciation for this community is sincere, and I value the expertise shared here deeply.

While my intent was never to mislead or use this community for personal gain, I can see how my post—combined with the Chrono24 listing—may have come across differently. That was never my purpose, and I regret not making things clearer from the start.

I’ve learned a lot just from reading through discussions here, and I hold this forum in high regard.

That said, I also understand that first impressions matter, and I respect the culture and standards of this community. Given that, I’ll refrain from further participation moving forward.

Thank you again for your time and perspectives.

Totally normal. It's very common to list watches on C24 when not actively selling. Just for archival purposes. Makes perfect sense. Mmm hmm.

OP particulars aside, and no offense intended, this content that is written with AI, or assisted with AI, or translated with AI, whatever it is, there's something about it that's just so....................................obnoxious.
If this starts to become the norm for people that grow up using it, I don't know, if the forum was full of that kind of.........polite fog.........I wouldn't want to participate as much.

Agreed. Hard to say why it is so but for some reason I recognise it immediately

Including hallucinations like the fictitious serial number between the lugs. The AI inserted something that it learned from describing Rolex watches.

However, AI will improve and it will be harder to distinguish.

I was able to figure out from C24 that our OP is likely in South Korea. Looking at the watch in detail, I see no evidence of a “cracked” dial. Maybe a cracked crystal, which is very common and easily fixed.

Dial looks original, but watch was subject to water intrusion at one time, which may or may not have been repaired.

I know that some collectors have been stocking up on Universal watches with the idea that prices will explode once Breitling re-introduces the brand to the retail market. I don’t know if this is going to happen or not.

You guys can figure that out when it happens.

Well, I don’t think this particular watch has any potential to take off—except maybe in the literal sense!

Yeah, I was surprised to find this watch here.

I actually saw this watch before at my local market - asking price was... let's say less than what he's asking now, and even then, I thought the price was too steep. I'm quite sure the poster bought it for less than that.

I am also from S.Korea, I actually never met this guy but it's not hard to find his blog (in Korean), and he wrote extensively about this watch on his blog. In the post it was not hard to see that he vastly overestimated the value of his watch, comparing previous auction results of medico-compaxes in much, much better conditions (and also market condition was much better as well..)

It's just a little sad to see that someone with little or no understanding of vintage and conditions - bought this watch without extensive advice from others, and also little embarrassing to see the same person post asking information about this watch while simultaneously posting on C24 at outrageous prices.

Let's please not make fun of him TOO much.
I'm sure he just didn't know the manners of this forum, and had some high expectations of the watch.
Little hard to digest that posting on C24 is just for "Archiving", never heard of that before.
