Over the last years we had several discussions about these pieces and whether or not they were produced by Breitling or produced from Breitling parts , mainly because the striking resemblance with the Breitling Top Time ref 810 Now I finally have one in my hands I am off the fence and dare to say these were produced by Breitling for Universal Geneve . The 1 last fact that got me off the fence is because the movement is marked 'TJ' just below the Venus 178 mark on the mainplate of the movement . TJ is typically used by Breitling to mark their mainplates anyway , I thought I'd share
UG did use the 178 on the aero compax 24 hours, this is the first Time I saw it in - breitling styled compax, will be interesting to learn more
this is the first one I remember seeing many years ago, not many thereafter till I found the one I just received in the pics above http://www.farfo.com/menswatches/Pa...riple_register_vintage_chronograph_watch.html
I had the chance to handle one of these at European Watch Co in Boston a few weeks ago. The parts are Top Time down to the details - only branded UG. I'm equally convinced that these were produced by Breitling.
